Spaying and neutering
Spaying and neutering (sometimes called castrating) helps prevent unplanned and unwanted pregnancies and has certain long term health benefits.
Neutering or spaying is carried out between 4 and 9 months of age. Your pet will need to stay with us for a day so we can monitor their recovery after surgery. On return home you will need to prevent stitches from being chewed or pulled out! We may advise a buster collar to help prevent this. Some stitches dissolve naturally, some need to be removed after ten days. We will let you know what to expect. We also routinely carry out this procedure on rabbits and guinea pigs.
